The senator who insisted on his “wide stance” in a bathroom stall was misinterpreted. According to CNN, on June 11, Larry Craig from Idaho found himself in a sticky situation when a plainclothes police officer, acting on complaints of lewd behavior, apprehended him in an airport men’s room.
Rod Blagojevich
He tried to sell Obama’s senate seat and then lied about it. The phone tapes said otherwise. Wikipedia states that Blagojevich, in a stunning turn of events, was found guilty on federal corruption charges stemming from the controversial filling of President Obama’s vacant Senate seat, among other serious allegations.
Not only was Blagojevich impeached and unanimously removed from office, but he was also barred from ever holding office in the state.
Marion Barry
The D.C. mayor’s “B@tch set me up” defense didn’t negate the fact he lied about using drugs. According to various news sources, Marion Barry, the infamous mayor, was caught red-handed by the feds. In a hotel room, they nabbed him (on tape), smoking crack, while he muttered those infamous words, “B@tch, set me up!”
Tom DeLay
His name became synonymous with political corruption, and he habitually lied about it. Wikipedia states that Tom DeLay was a Republican powerhouse who served as a U.S. Representative from Texas (1979–83, 1985–2006) and even held the prestigious position of House Majority Leader (2003–05).
However, his political journey took an unexpected turn when he was convicted in 2010 of money laundering and conspiracy charges. These charges were linked to illicit campaign finance activities that aimed to support Republican candidates for Texas state office in 2002.
